We're showing our hand a bit here. Now all agents will know we were ready with 150 bags for tevez - Might put us in a tight spot during negotiations

Thank god he turned us down. He is well passed it and we don't need passengers going into the new season.

Contemptible by Sullivan imo

The man has the right to choose where he works and how much he wants to be paid

His first love has always been Boca, he said early in his career he can't wait to go back.

Says he's past his best and hasn't done it in SA, but offered 150 bags?

Prick

Bolt, I read it as the offer was last year, and the quote was from Sullivan not Gold.

So we're offering a 33 year old who Gold admits himself is past his best, 150k a week?

Fucking hell, sounds as if Gold0 is going senile.

Re: Tevez - offered 150k a week and bonuses, demanded 250k
The offer was when he left Juve after having one of the best seasons of his career

Also the shirt sales and marketing value he bring would pay for alot of his cost

I'd love him back here and he could do a job for a couple of seasons without doubt but 250k a week is silly money

Im glad to see the Dave's tried though, it didnt work so move on

Re: Tevez - offered 150k a week and bonuses, demanded 250k
I'm sorry but why would he even offer 150k for him in the first place? He said himself he is probably past it and as a club how can we risk that sort of money on a "oh he might be okay in the Prem at age 32".

Also why would Tevez move he always said he wants to finish his career and that league and his family is there. He doesn't owe us anything and just because he has said it would take that amount of money to move here doesn't mean he is slagging the club. He probably does have an affinity for West Ham but it is a business at the end of the day and for him to move from his beloved country, uprooting his family only for I'm guessing 1 year to then move back he named his price.

The only issue I see with this is us going for him in the first place. Sullivan shouldn't of made it public because it looks like he is slagging a player off due to him naming a price.

It also sends a message to any striker we want that we was willing to pay a 32 year old 150k a week plus bonuses.

Lacazette who is 7 years younger and coming up to his prime would now be like okay I want 200k if they are offering that sort of dosh. Done us more harm than good making this public, in my opinion.

I wouldn't of been happy with signing Tevez anyway, 2 years ago maybe, but not now!

I know exactly what you were doing, it wasn't too simple, it was a shit cliched analogy of two things that cannot be compared.

Of course, some footballers see it as just a job. Most, of course, realise it's not 'just a job'. THAT would be simplifying it.

Re: Tevez - offered 150k a week and bonuses, demanded 250k
I understand why he did it, people baying at him on every media: "Why haven't we signed a striker yet?" He is saying look at me I tried. But I wish he would hold his nerve and dignity a bit.

Still a huge net positive having them as owners.

The fans that continually knock our owners need to get a grip. Look where we were a few years ago. Fuck off and support somebody else.

Sullivan is playing the game he's always played, getting publicity out of the 'nearly' signings that cost the club fuck-all.

If negotiations did take place but were declined then have some dignity instead of slating Tevez's affection for the club because he chose not to accept the offer.

Re: Tevez - offered 150k a week and bonuses, demanded 250k
I do wonder whether this was a deal that Bilic wanted anyway. It sounds more like a plan to get the fans favourite in and get them all onside about the OS move.

Apparently the offer was made in May so wasn't done after being turned down by the likes of Lacazette etc.

Yep, your bar job is similar to having a bond with 35k fans screaming your name every week and going mental when you do something special.

Of course it isnt, but I was trying to use a simple analogy for people thinking it's greedy he isn't uprooting his life again to come and play for us, perhaps I didn;t make it simple enough.
